Amazing Squarespace Plugins to Elevate your Website

Although I still implement a lot of CSS and custom code on my Squarespace websites, I like to focus on the design rather than getting too bogged down with endless tech-solving. Squarespace plugins are an amazing way to elevate your website design and functionality and there are some seriously great websites out there offering both free and premium plugins to take your Squarespace site to the next level.

Plugins work differently on Squarespace than they do on other platforms like Wordpress. They often require some basic knowledge of CSS to implement rather than a one-click install.

My favourite plugins have excellent customer support and clear tutorials/instructions to help you install them. Check out my selected round up below of trusted plugins I use to take my website design from generic Squarespace template to beautiful custom-built online spaces with intention.

My Favourite Squarespace Plugins

01. Squarestylist

I love the Squarestylist plugins and use them on almost every site I build. Rach delivers the plugins as a short Teachable courses, guiding you through the process with detailed instructions and video tutorials that enable you to customise the plugin for your own style and functionality. I love the unique designs and stylish solutions and Rach’s customer service is excellent too.

Most plugins are compatible with both Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1 and installation difficulty is moderate to advanced but you can reach out for assistance if you need extra help. All plugins come with a license that allows you to use them on an unlimited number of websites, making them amazing for client projects.

Here are some of my favourite plugins from the Squarestylist:

02. Square Design Guild

Meg Summerfield is a serious expert in the Squarespace world and she’s also super helpful with her support. I love using her Left Right Layout plugin. It’s set up as a mini-course and Meg teaches you how to use the plugin in a multitude of different ways to meet your specific needs. You can see this plugin in action on this website.

I also love her Full Width Footer course. Please note that these plugins are only compatible with the Brine family templates of Squarespace 7.0.

03. Ghost Plugins

Ghost plugins have a huge collection of free plugins. They collaborate with a lot of different developers and are very high quality - as well as being compatible for both Squarespace template 7.0 and 7.1. They offer great customer support and detailed instructions.

These are some trusted plugins I have used and loved:

05. Square Studio

Square Studio offer an impressive selection of premium plugins that can offer better design and functionality. I find it kind of frustrating that they don’t have visuals of their plugins and their customer support is slow to respond. But I still highly recommend the plugins I have used and thankfully the installation instructions are very straightforward and easy to install.

I love using the following Square Studio plugins:
